This series explores an exploitation in "food desserts" in rural America along with the "blight on the landscape” that these “pop up” dollar stores create. They offer processed foods often to disadvantaged people, that have little nutritional value. These stores are a visual commentary on our society and demonstrate a negative visualization of rural countrysides all throughout America.
The canvas' are oil with additional elements of yellow bags from these types of stores and jute sting symbolizing the natural environment which adds a three dimensional texture to the composition.
